Captain Spyros Mandalenakis
Nationality: Greek
Spyros, who was born in 1986, received his diploma at the Merchant Naval School in Athens. His career as a captain began when he accepted a position as Staff Captain with SEAJETS, a Greek ferry firm that runs passenger and cargo ferries in the Aegean Sea. In recent years he was Chief Officer of 34m, M/Y MOBIUS and captain of 25m M/Y YUMI. Along the way, he has taught more than 20 training courses at the Greek Seafarers Post Training Center KESEN and the GMC Maritime Training Center & Maritime Academy during the past 10 years. Spyros holds certificates as a lifeguard, as well as a CPR card and Medical Care training from KESEN. He is bilingual in English and Spanish and enjoys writing songs and playing the guitar in his spare time.
Chef Themis Karagiannidis
Nationality: Greek
Young professional Themistoklis has a love for cooking. He received his culinary arts degree from the Le Monde Institute of Hotel & Tourism Studies. Since then, he has worked at prestigious restaurants in Athens, including the Michelin-starred “Varoulko,” as well as in 5-star resorts. He spent several seasons as a Chef De Partie at the Four Seasons Astir Palace in Vouliagmeni. His strong appetite to please his guests and his proficiency in his area are all that are required to succeed and offer a spectacular experience that begins with the guest’s palate.
Stewardess Anna Kyriaki
Nationality: Greek
Anna, a graduate student in restaurant and hotel management who was born in 1995, has been a stewardess aboard motor yachts for the last five years. She has certificates in English, Ship Security, and STCW training under her belt. She is keen to advance in the yachting business and is highly thorough when it comes to providing excellent guest service. She enjoys giving her best to provide a wonderful guest experience, and her diligence and attention to detail are highly appreciated. Previous yachts: m/y Grace, m/y Summer Fun
Deckhand Sokrates Rellias
Nationality: Greek
Socrates is a grad student at the Agricultural University of Athens who is majoring in Natural Environment Management. Socrates, as his name suggests, is a polymath. He works 4 jobs: one as a barista at a variety of cafes, one as a computer programmer, one as a videographer, and one as a volunteer with FRIENDS OF THE FOREST UNION OF ATHENS. His upbeat outlook and strong work ethic are a perfect match for a competitive charter boat like Makani. Socrates speaks English and in his spare time likes playing music for friends.
